Dear family of Phyllis M. Hinkle,
I am writing this letter because I read the obituary in the newspaper for your dear loved one Phyllis M. Hinkle. Although, I was unable to attend her memorial service Monday, I wanted to write this letter to give your family comfort.
Many people blame God for the death of a loved one. Some may say it was their time. Is that how you feel? No one can say what will happen in their life from one day to the next. Time and unforseen occurrences befalls us all, regardless of our walk in life. So it makes you wonder, would a God of love want to see his creation in pain and suffering as we all are today?
The only true source of comfort comes from God’s word the bible. In your copy of the bible, I encourage you to read Romans 5:17 which tells us that death will not be forever. At Acts 24:15, the bible tells us that there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and unrighteous. Many believe that the earth will be destroyed and all who die will go to heaven, but at Psalms 37:11 tells us that the meek will possess the earth and find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.
Our earth was wonderfully created, but unfortunately, greed and carelessness of man has caused havoc on the earth. If a landlord has rented his home and there are destructive tenants in the home, he does not tear down the house, but he evicts the tenants.
So there is hope for all mankind. Isaiah 65:17 tells us that God is creating a new heaven and a new earth. So some will live in heaven, but many will live on the earth reunited with loved ones lost to death. This hope extends to you and your family and the entire earth of mankind. God will not tolerate wickedness forever. Soon he will also end pain and suffering forever, and one day you can be reunited with your dear loved one again. Comfort given through God’s word the bible helps us to know that death is not the final end to all things.
Psalms 83:18 tells us that God’s name is Jehovah. The bible identifies him as a personal God and he is close to the broken hearted. He is well aware of the pain your family is feeling. He will permanently put an end to the pain that you feel.
Jehovah is a God of love and not one that causes suffering and pain. The hurt you feel right now originates from a different source. You can have many of lifes important questions answered for you.
