Helen F. LAKINS (nee Pindroh), age 94. Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Frank M. Cherished mother of Donna Eglitis (Jan) and Judy Budd (John). Dearest grandmother of Darlene Kelbach, Jennifer L’Heureux (Bill), Melissa Mitchell and step grandmother of John Budd Jr. (Rebecca), Michael Budd (Mary Ann), Scott Budd (Laura) and Mark Budd (Michelle). Dear great grandmother of Mackenzie, Tatum, Morris, Levi and Simon, step great grandmother of Jack, Jocelyn, Hunter, Davis, Caroline, Michael, Cory, Madison and Jake. Dear sister of the late John, Cecilia, August, Mary and Ann. Dear aunt and friend to many. Helen loved her family, dogs and playing cards with her friends. She also gathered stuffed animals and provided bananas to nursing homes.

DEMPSEY, Francis J. “Frank”

Francis J. “Frank” DEMPSEY, age 85. Beloved husband of 65 years to Alice (nee Malinosky). Dearest father of James (Julie), Kathleen Fitzgerald, Christine Borgman, Eileen Isaacs (Brian), and “adopted daughters” Colleen and Olga. Loving grandfather of Allen, Matthew, Janel and great grandfather of Timothy. Dear brother of Carol Gaetano and the late Marilyn Kilgore, William Dempsey and Jane Graham. Frank was a member of the Holy Name Society for over 60 years and Kiwanis for over 35 years. He held several leadership positions in each.

Francis J. Dempsey was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, one of five children of William and Eunice Dempsey.  He attended Saint Ignatius High School and graduated from John Carroll University with a degree in Accounting.  He later became a CPA and CFP and started his own accounting practice which served the business community and individual taxpayers until his retirement after 50 years.

He met his wife Alice while in high school, got married in 1951 and had four children: James, Kathleen, Christine and Eileen.  He spent many hours volunteering with youngsters as a Cub Scout Master, Boy Scout Master and an advisor in Junior Achievement.  Together with his wife Alice, he served as a Big Brother for the Catholic Charities program for 25 years, mentoring six little brothers.  Frank and Alice also volunteered together at Providence House for 8 years caring for children from birth to age five.

Frank was a member of the Holy Name Society for over 60 years, and served in all the offices and as the Holy Name President twice.  At Saint Bridget, Frank was a Lector and Eucharistic Minister, and sang in the Resurrection Choir.  

Frank belonged to Kiwanis International and was a Kiwanian for over 35 years.  Also, in recent years, he volunteered preparing tax returns for low income taxpayers through the AARP Organization for Seniors.

Frank had many other interests as well. He spent many years as a private pilot. He enjoyed swimming, fishing, boating, golfing, bowling, cooking indoors and out, and playing his trumpet.  He loved to travel with his family, taking vacations in New England and trips out west.  He and Alice had visited destinations all over the world.  

Frank was a very kind and generous man, volunteering his time and donating to charities.
