John’s nickname was “Red” and his favorite Disney character was “Grumpy”. They embodied his personality perfectly, grumpy yet endearing. He was a strong and proud man as well who belonged to the Iron Worker’s Local 17 for over 60 years.
Red enjoyed going to estate sales and collected many things such as wooden birds, lighthouses and matchbox cars. He was a true treasure and bargain hunter. He was one of the cleanest people you’d ever meet, especially his cars. He was on retainer at the car wash for over 20 years. His cars never saw dirt and at times he would take them daily to be washed. He enjoyed going out to eat for breakfast/lunch with his buddies and they would sit for hours and bicker at one another. Red bought his first and only motorcycle at the age of 78, but didn’t keep it very long. John loved his Cleveland sports teams. He was passionate until the end about his treats. He even had to stop at Speedway on his way to dialysis and get his french vanilla coffee and two donuts.
Please help us celebrate his life with a FUNERAL MASS ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 28, 10:00 AM AT HOLY FAMILY CHURCH, PARMA. INTERMENT OF ASHES WILL FOLLOW AT HOLY CROSS CEMETERY.
