Loving grandmother of Raelynn, Savannah and step grandmother of Brittany, great great grandmother of William and great great step grandmother of Brylee and Brexton. Dearest daughter of the late Cvjetko and Slavica Barisic. Dear sister of the late Damir Barisic, and aunt of Sonja Barisic and Melanie Gould.

WENZ, Lawrence R. “Larry”

Lawrence R. “Larry” WENZ, age 68. Passed away on March 23, 2021 after an 11 year battle with cancer. Husband of 48 years to Sue (nee Edwards); father of Nicole (Rob) Berardi and Tim (Michelle); grandpa to Robbie, Maddie, Austyn, Avery & Kingsley; son of the late Francis and Evelyn (nee Kreshak); brother of Fr. Bob and Chris (Flo); brother-in-law and uncle to many. 

Larry spent 33 years proudly serving Strongsville as a Firefighter/EMT. A dedicated and hard worker, he wasn’t good at sitting still unless it was eating a donut or reading a Sci-Fi book.

He enjoyed vacations – local adventures, Hawaii, cruises and Disney – and especially the annual family trip to Maumee Bay.

Private mass will be held. A celebration of life is planned for July 31 – when the weather is warmer since he hated the cold. We want to be able to hug, share a donut & a beer, listen to Queen & Black Sabbath and talk with every one of his family and friends.

Alan John Komar, age 70, was born on February 26, 1951 to the late Albert and Florence Komar (nee Klassen).  Al went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 18, 2021. Cherished husband of 44 years to Gloria Mary Komar (nee Bakos).  Loving and proud father of Katherine and Andy (fiancée, Danielle Gross).  Snack providing and playful grandfather of Hanz (dog).  Dear brother-in-law of Shirlee Bakos, the late John Bakos (Susan), and Andrea Chilton (Peter).  Dear uncle and friend to many. Al was an award-winning, master woodworker, Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus Assembly 2397, Holy Name member (former president) and 41 year employee of AT&T.

Visitation 3-7 at Zabor Funeral Home, 5680 Pearl Rd.(Between Snow  and Ridge Roads) on Sunday, March 21, 2021.  Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 10:00 am at St. Matthias Church.  Please meet at the church, 1200 W. Jeff enjoyed coaching his daughters for many years and was active with St. Leo CYO Athletics. He was also a board member of St. Columbkille Credit Union.

Dennis R. DOERING, age 77. Beloved husband of 51 years to Carol (nee Tagliaferro). Loving father of Sean (Donna), Carrie Dickens (Michael, deceased) and Kelly McClain (Adam). Dear grandfather of Kayla, Brooke and Edward.  He’s finally reunited with his twin brother, the late Donald (Janet) and brother of Kathy (Dennis), Mary (Richard, deceased). Dear uncle and friend to many. Dennis was a Parma High School Graduate of 1961, a 30 year employee of American Airlines, and served in the US Army.

HAYS, Alexander J.

Alexander J. Hays, age 31, was born in Memphis, TN, to parents Kim and Steve Hays and resided in Broadview Hts., OH. Alex attended Brecksville-Broadview Hts. Schools. He was an honor student, participated in travel baseball, and was a Brecksville varsity football player. He was on the homecoming court his senior year and graduated in 2008. Alex was awarded an academic scholarship to Miami University in Oxford, OH. He attended Miami University and Kent State University and was most recently employed at Group Management Services where he was respected and loved. Throughout his lifetime, Alex enjoyed times with his family at Lake Chautauqua, NY, where he was an accomplished snow skier, snow boarder, water skier, avid boater and jet-skier. He relished his personal time on the dock fishing with his brother Spencer. Additionally, Alex was a role model and best friend to Spencer who revered Alex with high esteem. Alex was a loving and caring beautiful man inside and out. He had a dynamic smile that matched his larger than life personality. Remembered by his brother Spencer, “He had no filter and spoke his mind whether it was popular or not!” Alex and Spencer spent the best times of their lives together as brothers and best friends. Over the past year plus he enjoyed spending time with his girlfriend Sonja whether going on dates, hanging out with family or spending alone time together. They shared many joyful moments. Alex will forever be remembered by his large loving family, his friends and everyone who knew him. May God forever hold Alex in the palm of His loving hands.

Graveside services will be held April 10, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Maple Shade Cemetery in Independence. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Lantern Center for Recovery, 12160 Triskett Road, Cleveland, OH, 44111.

VICTORIA “VICKI” E. PENNER. Age 46 of Elyria, Ohio (born in Cleveland, Ohio) passed away on  Sun. February 28, 2021. Loving partner of Scott Unrein. Beloved daughter of the late Edward and Ruth Penner (nee Kangas).  Survived by son, grandson, sister, brother, aunts, uncles, cousins.  Vicki was an artist, animal lover, and free spirit.  She will be missed by all who loved her.
