James Douglas LYONS, Sr. age 80. Most beloved husband of Theresa (nee Polomsky). Devoted father of Elizabeth, J. Douglas, Jr. (deceased), Christopher (Melody), Erin Semenec (Craig). Cherished grandfather of Peter, Grace, Abigail, Leo (Martha), Xavier, Anastasia, Elizabeth, Lily, Lazarus, George, Lucy, Simon, Zeno, Amelia. Brother of Charles (Marilyn, deceased). Dearest friend of Janusz and Rita Zak.

Doug was a gentleman in the truest sense: loving, kind, compassionate, generous, with a ready smile for everyone. He took special delight in his grandchildren and was so very grateful as each one was born. His deep faith in Our Lord always guided his decisions. He took great joy in prayer, always having special family intentions in mind. We were blessed to have this exceptional man with us for 80 years. He leaves a void no one will ever fill. Dearest Doug, we love you and pray Our Blessed Lord will walk with you on your final journey. You are with us always.

WILLIAMS, Carlton H.

Carlton Harry Williams, age 63, died peacefully on November 19th , 2021, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.

Carlton was born on August 18 th , 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio to Harry and Wilma Williams. He graduated from Midpark High School in 1976 and earned a bachelor’s degree from Baldwin Wallace College in 1995. Carlton worked for Sherwin Williams for many years in the tax department as a Tax Compliance Manager.

Carlton is survived by his daughters (Jill and Amy), grandsons (Johnny and Justin), mother (Wilma), sister (Rhonda) and brother (Van). He is preceded in death by his father (Harry), brothers (Billy and Perry), and sister (Valerie).

Besides spending time with his family and friends, Carlton had a passion for hunting, golf, vacationing, exercising, cycling, playing softball and volleyball, and caring for his cat, Amadeus. Carlton had a bright and caring personality that touched many lives with his kindness and passion for life.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering on Saturday, December 4th from 1- 4pm at the Brunswick Eagles, located at 349 Pearl Road, Brunswick, Ohio 44212.

BALCHAK, Rosemary E.

Rosemary E. Balchak, (née O’Keefe) of Strongsville, OH, age 96, born October 11, 1925, passed away November 15, 2021. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years Ernest (Ernie). She is survived by her adult children Thomas M. Balchak (Natalie née Abrams), James J. Balchak (JoAnn née Hendricks) and Kathleen Fahey (Daniel). Grandchildren Matthew & Allison Balchak, Carrie (Balchak) Lombardo, Molly (Fahey) Matonti, and Anna (Fahey) Camera-Funk. Great grandchildren Emma Lombardo, Maxwell Matonti, Andrew Camara and Samantha Funk. Rosemary was the second born child of Margaret and Aloysius O’Keefe. She is survived by two brothers; John (Jack) and Robert O’Keefe. Predeceased by older sister, Margaret (Peggy) Vasko, younger brother, Albert O’Keefe & younger sister Patricia O’Keefe. Rosemary lived with her husband and children in Parma Heights until they were all out of the nest. In later life they lived in Strongsville. She was an active volunteer at Incarnate Word Academy, St. John Bosco, St. Joseph’s and St. Vincent de Paul. She also volunteered at the community center at Olympia Senior Community. She was a painter, loved music, and an avid reader. Most of all, she was a wonderful friend. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice, St. Vincent de Paul, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the National Down Syndrome Society. A Mass of Christian Burial and internment ceremony will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Strongsville, OH at 10:00 am on January 8, 2022. HAHNER, James E.

James E Hahner, 89, was reunited with his beloved wife, Diane A Hahner (nee Squires) on September 20, 2021. (Whitehaven Memorial Park Mayfield, OH Section S Plot 418A, Grave 1) . Jim was born on April 23,1932 to William and Hazel Hahner. Beloved father to Daniel (decreased), James (Lisa), Susan (Donald Reshni), Kimberly (George Valentine), and Jon (Elyse.) His legacy continues with his 10 grandchildren; Aaron Hahner and Jason Kapcar, Daniel, Naein, and Ahlum Choi, Ian (deceased), Nicholle (Derrick Briggs), and Megan Reshni, and Santina and Harrison Hahner. He also was blessed with three great grandchildren; Jae and Scarlett Briggs and Autumn Hahner. Jim was a proud American. A US Army infantry veteran who fought on the front lines in the Korean War. He worked for Lyons Transportation Lines for over 30 years and was a member of Teamsters Local 407. Jim was also a Mason and a life-long resident of Parma, OH.
