KOWAL, Christopher J.

KOWAL, Christopher J.

CHRISTOPHER “CHRIS” KOWAL, age 63, of Parma. Beloved husband of 40 years to Joan (nee Flemming). Dearest father of Connie and Michael (Amanda). Loving papa of Riley, Calvin, Cleo, Charlotte, and Cayleigh. A dear brother to Tom (deceased), Kathy, and Becky; loving uncle to many. His friendships are countless and his life was an example of serving others in every way, especially those who lovingly referred to him as “Pops.”

VISITATION, THURSDAY, SEP. 8, 4-8 PM AT THE ZABOR FUNERAL HOME, 5680 PEARL RD. PARMA (BETWEEN SNOW AND RIDGE ROADS). FUNERAL SERVICE, FRIDAY, SEP. 9, 10:00 AM AT ST. FRANCIS DE SALES IN PARMA. BURIAL TO FOLLOW AT HOLY CROSS CEMETERY.

Chris was born in Cleveland on January 3, 1959 to Frank and Dorothy (“Sweetie”) Kowal. He spent the past 40 years as the hardest working house painter in northeast Ohio, truly the best (and the past 15 years passing along the business he built to his son). Chris enjoyed any activities that involved his family and friends, sports, and the outdoors. He especially loved Don Ramon’s celebration meals, live music and sporting events with his wife, daughter and grandson Riley; bike rides through the Metroparks; camping and boating on Berlin Lake, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Chris was always willing take care of those he loved and lighten any mood with his witty personality. Pops loved spending time with his grandchildren, pets and grandpets. He will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Condolence from Edward Gatka on September 6th, 2022 5:14 pm

Chris you were a friend of mine for most of my life. Since I’ve heard the news I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on all the good times we shared over the years. The years of playing softball together, the boating adventures when we were younger. And although we didn’t see as much of each other as we got older we still managed to stay in touch and always shared a good laugh when we ran into one another. The memories of your friendship is something I will always cherish. So God bless you my brother, Pop a top with Boo and God willing we’ll see each other again someday. Rest well my brother you will be deeply missed.

So sorry for your loss, I remember him coming out to watch Riley’s hockey and baseball games.

To the Kowal family,

We are so very sorry for such a shocking and untimely loss. Chris was a great friend and business partner to Paul and his father in the home building industry. As for me, I was one of countless customers who appreciated the hard work he did and how, when he was done, he could make good structures look great and pretty decks (mine) look beautiful. He will be greatly missed. Prayers to the entire family now and in the days going forward.

With deepest sympathy,
Paul Lipovits and Gina Crouse
