Carole was the only child of Sid and Barbara Banton. Carole was born on Cleveland's East side. Growing up, she spent many of her summer vacations on the family farm in her father's hometown of Allensville, Kentucky with her many cousins. Hank and Carole spent one night on the farm even though there was no running water or electricity shortly after they were married. Carole enjoyed family vacations with Hank, Darlene and Duane. They would hike in National Parks or different mountain ranges across the United States. Carole enjoyed spending time with her cousins Marilyn Skube and Gloria Glotz and her good friends Elaine Plumlee and Barbara Miller Grow. Carole enjoyed the great friendships that she and Hank made at the Kingdom Hall with other Jehovah Witnesses.
