To know David was to know that you were loved, and there was nothing more important to him than his family. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Barbara, his children Stephen (Karina), Barry (Vicki), Heather (Kevin), Holly (Josh) and Lauren (Mike). He was deeply loved as Papa to his grandchildren Dallas (deceased), Meredith Elise, Julia, and Ava. He also greatly loved his extended family and friends and cherished the time he spent with them. These instances of entertaining, storytelling, fine wine and food provided him with so much joy. There was always too much food at the party and he wouldn't have it any other way. As a member of the CYO Hall of Fame, he was fiercely devoted to coaching and serving to assist in the development of kids and to foster their love of sports, character, and hard work. He was a passionate Cleveland sports fan, which brought him equal measures of elation and frustration through the years. Some of David's happiest days were spent on Lake Erie at "The Cottage" a peaceful place filled with memories and fun. All who knew David will miss his warmth, sense of humor and selflessness that never wavered, even as his health declined. Thank you to everyone who supported our family for the last several years especially the caring staff at the Welsh Home, Cypress Hospice, and our extended family and dear friends.
