Doreen loved baking (unless it’s too hot!) She loved gardening and sharing plants and produce. Hiking was a favorite activity for many years. Doreen loved birding and enjoyed maple sugaring with Joe and her nearby niece and great nephews. Most of her professional career was spent as a paralegal. With all that training, she was very helpful to so many friends and family that needed help knowing where to start with legal matters. While working, Doreen studied American Sign Language in college and was able to translate for so many people when she was just out and about. It became another way for her to make good friends. Clown town was a favorite getaway with Aunt Carol. Doreen was a very close, personal friend of Daisy Fields. It was almost like they were one and the same. They were sometimes spotted in parades or visiting kids or at parties.

The love of boating led to Doreen becoming a member of the South Shore Cruising Club serving in various leadership roles. She worked her way up the ladder to eventually becoming Past Commodore, the post she was very proud to serve in.. She and Joe are members of the Great Lakes Marinette Club. They are members of Catawba West Harbor Yacht Club. They also have a small group of friends that often plan boating trips together. Doreen loved the ocean, beach and surf fishing and has become good friends with a certain Charter Captain in North Carolina.
