Douglas L. Davis, age 85, of Brook Park, passed away on January 18, 2025. Beloved husband of 63 years to Barbara A. (nee Kaska). Loving father of Kim Szczepinski (Allan), Lorrie Ziegler (Ed), and Bob (Angie). Beloved grandfather of Chad (Samantha), Chelsea, Zak (Faith), Jake (Alex), Abby, Molly, and Ben and great grandfather of Leo, Remi, Kinsley, Nash, Archer, and Wyatt. Dear brother of Ken (Terri), and several late brothers and sisters. Dear uncle and friend to many.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 8:00 pm (with Eulogy at 7:30pm) on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Zabor Funeral Home, 5680 Pearl Road, Parma, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF).
Doug grew up in Old Brooklyn and graduated from Rhodes High School. At Rhodes, he was an excellent football player and track athlete. After high school, he met his wife of 60+ years and they had 3 children. Doug was a devoted father and husband. He worked for American Greetings Corp. as a dye cutter for many years and retired in their manufacturing process control department. During his retirement he refined his skills to become a master wood craftsman. Doug made many wood items in his wood workshop for his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends. He was also an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed deer hunting, archery, fishing, and camping. Throughout his life he was a member of the South Cuyahoga Sportsman Association.
