Edward Blythin, 77, of Granger Township, passed away on July 12, 2018 at home. Ed was born on July 7, 1941 in Lakewood, Ohio, to the late Arthur Blythin and Margaret (nee Cooper) Fedor. He was a resident of Granger for 43 years. He graduated from Parma Senior High School in 1960, and served in the United States Army as a paratrooper for the 503 rd Airborne from 1961-1964. Ed furthered his education at Kent State University where he studied journalism. He graduated with honors in 1974. Ed was employed as an Investigator for the United States Consumer Products Safety Commission for 27 years and retired August 1, 2005. His hobbies included gardening, woodworking, and volunteer work. Ed was an avid sports fan. He was always a staple at the many events for his sons and grandchildren. He was a past member of the Parma Elks.
Ed is survived by and will be dearly missed by his beloved wife and best friend of 49 years, Virginia (Wanicki), his loving sons, Eddy (Heather Holton), granddaughters, Briana and Bailey of Brunswick, Ohio; Brian (Sonya Curtis), granddaughter, Elizabeth of Rittman, Ohio; Shane of Medina, Ohio; and Kyle (Christi Cottrill), grandsons, Charlie and Desi of Wadsworth, Ohio. He is also survived by his brother, Richard Blythin of Columbus, Ohio, and his sister, Margaret Pisani of Paso Robles, California. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Elizabeth.
