Horst Kreuzer

Horst Josef Kreuzer, 82, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 24, 2023 after a long battle with Parkinson's. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Maria (née Klein), children Norman Kreuzer (Debbie née Duncan) and Melanie Cross, grandchildren Michael and Jessica Kreuzer and Conner Cross. He is also survived by his sister Helga (née Kreuzer) (Josef) Kofler in Austria.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Josef and Maria Kreuzer, and his mother-in-law, Maria Klein. He was born in Wels, Austria on June 22, 1940. After growing up in Austria, he moved to Australia and lived there for a decade. He returned to Austria and re-connected with his childhood friend, Maria. The two fell in love and started a family. After living in Germany for 8 years, the family relocated to the United States in 1978. Horst and Maria made their home in Brunswick, Ohio for 19 years and spent the last 25 years residing in Hinckley, Ohio. Horst was a loving and devoted husband, father and proud Opa. He cared for his family deeply and cherished their time together. Some of his happiest memories were of the family's travels throughout the US and Canada in their motorhome. He was a man of many talents, skills, and interests. Horst loved to fish, golf, garden, and cook. His goulash and spaghetti sauce were legendary and he could grow tomato plants that were as tall as a house. He was skilled at carpentry and home improvement. Horst had a wonderful sense of humor and an unmatched wit. Horst worked for Premier Industrial and retired from Kimball Midwest. Throughout his career, he traveled the world and was well liked and respected by his colleagues and clients, many of whom became life-long friends. He treated people with kindness, respect, and integrity wherever he went. Per his wishes, no wake or funeral services will be held.  Instead, there will be a celebration of life this summer.
