Jeffrey E. Wengstrom

d. February 5, 2024

Jeffrey Edward WENGSTROM entered eternal sleep on February 5, 2024.  He was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Chauncey and Gertrude Wengstrom on February 17, 1954 and resided in Brook Park, Ohio.  Jeff graduated from Lakewood High School in 1972 and served in the U.S. Air Force, from 1972 to 1976,  in both Charleston, South Carolina and Galena, Alaska.  Through his high school and Air Force education, he became a great mechanic.  Jeffrey also took electrical engineering courses at Cleveland State University and became a certified electrician.

Jeffrey is survived by his loving wife Sandra Forcier Wengstrom, his children Jeffrey Scott, Steven Todd (Jennifer) Daniel Ryan and Tiffany Dawn and his step children Kayla Nicole Michael (Chris) and Matthew David Michael, Jr.  Surviving siblings are Dawn Wengstrom Austin (Bradford) Michael Richard Wengstrom and Robin Wengstrom, his aunt, Alice Wengstrom, and four wonderful grandchildren Kailey Poe and Braiden Poe, Emma and Noah Wengstrom, many cousins and nieces and nephews.

Jeff had an interesting career, and worked many different jobs, from NASA to bread manufacturing.  He kept all the machines functioning and if parts were not available, he would manufacture his own parts to keep the machines running.  Juggling two to three jobs, Jeff's dedication knew no bounds as he labored to ensure his family's comfort, all while infusing the world around him with laughter and warmth.

Fueling their love affair with adventure, Jeff and Sandy's wanderlust carried them across the sprawling canvas of America. Jeff and Sandy loved to travel and took many vacations over the years.  Many of the 50 states were seen and memories made.

Most of all, Jeffrey loved anything with wheels!  From go-carts, motorcycles, trucks and cars.  He learned from a very early age to peel tires and show no fear.  They were his pride and joy and gave rides freely to anyone that asked for it.  However, you would have to hold on for dear life, because there were no seat belts!

Jeffrey's love for animals was evident with every dog he had.  From special treats to left overs he saved from his dinner, his tenderness knew no bounds.  Jeff cared more about his dogs than himself.

A Celebration of Life for Jeffrey will be held on Sunday, February 18, from 1:00 – 5:00 PM, at The Zabor Funeral Home, 5680 Pearl Rd. (betw. Snow & Ridge), Parma, 44129.  Please bring your stories, we want to hear them all.  Jeff will be interred at Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio on Tuesday, February 20th at 2:30 PM.  A short service & Air Force honors will be held there.
