In his younger years, John was a talented football, basketball, and baseball player - a competitive spirit that fueled his lifelong, passionate support for the Loras Duhawks, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and the Chicago Cubs.
Above all else, John’s greatest joy in life was his family. He loved nothing more than spending time with them, creating cherished memories that will live on in their hearts forever.
John was a devout Catholic and member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish. He was devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and brother. He shared 62 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Kathryn, building a life grounded in love, faith, and family. He was a proud father to his sons, J.D. (Susan), Stephen (Chrissie), Todd (Michelle), and Timothy (Victoria). Devoted grandfather to Bailey (RosaLia), Griffin, Emma (Matthew Reese), Jacob (Emily), J. Noah (Shelby - deceased), Hope, Johnny, Marjorie, Kathryn, Daly, Cecilia, and his great grandson Clark.
