John M. VLCEK, age 96, joined our Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven on October 13, 2023. As irrepressible as he was, his passing was the result of a fall. John was born on November 8, 1926 in Akron, Ohio and moved to Cleveland early in life. He was a graduate of East Tech High School, served in the U.S. Army and was a WWII Veteran, having served in Europe at the end of the war. Upon return from Germany, John graduated from Western Reserve University with a degree in accounting. Post graduation, he worked for Ford Motor Company and Premier Industrial Corp. until retirement. He loved to golf and was an avid gardener who found great joy in sharing his harvest.
John was a loving and dedicated husband and father and was married to Dorothy for 59 years. He was preceded in death by wife Dorothy M. (nee DeArmin), his brother Steve and sister Helen. He is survived by his sons Lawrence (Maxie Ann) of Macon, GA and Ron (Susan) of Medina, OH, grandchildren Sarah of Austin, TX, Erica of Charlotte, NC, Laura of Evanston, IL, Brent of Charlotte, NC, Carolyn of Lyndhurst, OH, Devon of Charlotte, NC, Mark of Novato, CA, and David of Medina, OH and ten great grandchildren.

PLEASE MEET THE FAMILY AT CHURCH FOR THE MASS of Christian Burial, Friday, October 20, 10:00 A.M. at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 6480 Pearl Rd., Parma Heights. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
