Joseph Warren Kessen

JOSEPH WARREN KESSEN, of Parma Heights, Ohio, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, after a short illness. He was 65. Joe was born on April 8, 1960, in Lafayette, Indiana, to John Frederick Kessen and Nancy Charlene Kessen (nee Starks). He is survived by his mother, his younger brother Jack, and his younger sister Susan (James Baek) and Jim and Sue’s children Molly and Stevie Baek. 

Joe attended Valley Forge High School in Parma Heights where he was on the track team, debate team, had a perfect score on his PSAT, and was a national merit scholar. He studied electrical engineering at Ohio State University and Cleveland State University, and he earned a BS in electrical engineering, as well as a PE. 

He had a successful career as a professional electrical engineer. In his retirement he enjoyed cooking, reading, and traveling. He was exceptionally intelligent and kind, and he had a wonderful deep voice and a great laugh. He was greatly loved by all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed.
