KULIG, Joseph John, age 88. Entered into rest Wednesday, January 4, 2017. Son of the late Mary and Joseph. Beloved husband of Patricia Ann (nee Zajac) for 51 years. Loving father of Joe (Lorraine) Kulig and Deborah (Marc) Letourneau. Proud grandfather of Mitch and Jacob. Brother of the late George (Annette), Valerie Oberaitis (Edward, deceased), and the late John (Barbara, deceased) and (companion, Rose). Dear uncle of Kathy, Mike, Tony, Jim, the late Josette, Teresa, Joseph, Joey and Fr. Chris.
Joseph was a Benedictine alumni, WWII Army Veteran, also serving in occupied Japan, a Parma Fireman, and member of Roofer Local 44. He volunteered at Brecksville VA and Holy Family Home, and belonged to St. Columbkille Holy Name Society, Padre Pio Prayer Group and the Polish Legion of American Veterans. He was an avid swimmer, softball and basketball coach, and enjoyed golf and the outdoors.
Mass of Christian Burial, Monday, January 9 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Columbkille Catholic Church. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery. VISITATION AT THE ZABOR FUNERAL HOME, 5680 PEARL RD., PARMA (between Ridge and Snow) Sunday from 3-7 p.m.
