Joyce graduated in January of 1947 from John Marshall High School. She was instrumental in the development of the "A.A." Battery at National Carbon Company. She transferred to Navy Lab developing "Proximity Fuses." When the lab closed, she worked at Monarch Aluminum Lab and did Teflon, Paint Pots, and did miscellaneous Quality Control work. In 1977, she became C.E.O of Ohio Spectrographic Service. She did miscellaneous services of Quality Control for many small foundries, Die Casters, Lamp Manufacturing, and miscellaneous small businesses. The lab closed in 2005 and she retired.
Joyce had many adventures in the dash between beginning and end dates. Her love of travel took her all over Europe and Scandinavia. She owned her own business Scientific Ohio Spectrographics and even flew her solo flight in a Cessna Plane. She was a good friend and wonderful mother. She will be dearly missed by all, but we have great memories to cherish.
