Margaret C. BUSH

Margaret Ann "Marge" BUSH, (nee Carroll), age 91, died early morning Saturday, May 30, 2026 in Hoffman Estates, Illinois at the Ascension Saint Alexius Medical Center. She was born November 21, 1934, at St. Ann’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, to Donald Francis Carroll (originally Francis Donald) and Sarah Lucille Farrell (nee Sally), and baptized December 8, at St. Jerome Church. She was named for her mother’s grandmother Margaret Hogan and her father’s mother Margaret McLaughlin Carroll. She grew up on the east side of Cleveland on 147th Street, with three younger brothers, Chuck, Pat, and Donny, and was a graduate of the Ursuline Academy in 1953. Her family moved to Parma in 1955. She worked in the payroll department at Union Carbide in Parma and joined a bowling team where she met her future husband, Dave.

She married Dave on October 18, 1958, at St Bridget of Kildare Parish in Parma. They had two sons, Phil and Mike, then moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1964. In 1972, they moved to Palatine, Illinois, where they lived the rest of their lives.

Marge was a homemaker until her boys were older then owned a sewing and craft business, Needlework Plus, in Barrington, Illinois for a number of years. She enjoyed needlework, painting, knitting, counted cross stitch, genealogy research, Macintosh computers, Brigid’s Cross (Cleveland Irish band) and visiting Ireland.

Marge was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Harry David Bush (Dave) in 2018; parents Donald Francis and Sally (Farrell) Carroll; brothers Charles William Carroll (Lynda), Patrick Vincent Carroll, and Donald Francis Carroll, Jr.; parents-in-laws Harry Oswald and Eva Louise (Ogilvie) Bush, sister-in-law Gloria Jane and brother-in-law Robert Bouman; and niece Roberta Andrs (Rick).

She leaves behind two sons, David Philip Bush (Tawn) and Donald Michael Bush (Jayne); grandchildren Michael Sean Bush (Shawna), Shannon Kathleen Michal (Jeff), Rachel Elizabeth Bush (Phillip), Philip Daniel Bush and John Ryan Bush; great-grandchildren Lillian Ashley Michal, Ella Madison Bush and William Miguel Hernandez; nieces and nephews Chris Carroll, Kim Carroll, in-law Rick Andrs, Becky Corridan (JC), and Fred Bouman (Kathy).

Celebration of Life will be Tuesday, June 2nd, 3:00 - 7:00 PM, Ahlgrim’s Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine, Illinois. VISITATION will be at The Zabor Funeral Home, 5680 Pearl Road, Parma, Ohio 44129 (betw. Ridge & Snow), from 11:00 AM - 12:00 noon followed by a Funeral Service at 12 noon at the funeral home, Friday, June 5th. Interment to follow. She will be buried between her husband Dave and brother Chuck at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brook Park, Ohio.
