Listen to Obituary

Eileen Fitzpatrick, a devoted mother, grandmother, and lifelong Catholic, passed away peacefully November 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family, and in the presence of her beloved cat, Jasmine who never left her side.

Born and raised as the only child of Marian Stein and William Fitzpatrick, Eileen was lovingly supported by her mother, grandparents, and many aunts and uncles, who nurtured her quiet nature, sharp wit, and intelligence. She excelled in school and earned a full scholarship to Mount St. Joseph College in Cincinnati, where she studied social work — a natural calling for her deeply caring and compassionate heart.

After college, Eileen began her career as a social worker, dedicating herself to helping people find stability, dignity, and hope. She later devoted herself to raising her two daughters, Mary Teresa “Terri” Sivik (Matt) and Lisa Dy-D’Uvo (Stephen), always ensuring they were loved, cared for, and encouraged to grow into strong, wise women. When they attended St. Bridget School, Eileen volunteered in the school library — a reflection of her lifelong interest in books and learning.

Her circle of long-time friends were her companions through decades of laughter, travel, and faith. She relished numerous trips with Carol Reynolds and Kathleen Hill, and many visits to Florida to see Pat and Colin Ho Tseung and their family. She enjoyed working part time for another friend, Savina Pavluk. She frequently attended church with neighbors Diane and Jay Ferrier, and volunteered at the theater with fellow parishioners Mary and Frank Dirk as a proud “Red Coat.” Her love of music started as a child playing piano and listening to the radio, from jazz to rock ’n’ roll.

As a grandmother, Eileen found deep joy in spending time with her grandchildren — Amanda Westfall (Jacob), Steven Sivik, Liliana D’Uvo, and Lena D’Uvo — caring for the older ones when they were young and later taking the younger ones on simple adventures to the library, out shopping, or for ice cream. She cherished those moments.

Eileen was known for her intelligence, her generosity, and especially her sharp sense of humor — which she kept even until the very end. She faced life’s challenges with grace and wit, always able to find a bit of humor to bring a smile to those around her.

Her life was a quiet but powerful testament to faith, family, and friendship. She gave much and asked for little, and her love will continue to ripple through every life she touched.
