Phillip E. Katona

PHILLIP ERNEST KATONA, age 74, passed away unexpectedly on May 4, 2024. Loving son of the late Alex and Malvine and son in law of the late Lawrence and Bessie Rini. Beloved husband of Rosalie (Rose) nee Rini for 48 years. Devoted father of Laura Mendise, Dana Santoro (Nicolas), and Ashley Whaley (William). Cherished grandfather of Dante, Dominic, Anthony, Alissa, Giavanna, Chase, and Sophia. Dear brother of Al Katona (Kim), and Steve Katona (late Rob), and uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Phil graduated from North Royalton High School and Baldwin Wallace College where he was an outstanding football player. He had a long, successful career in medical sales. Phil treasured spending time with his family more than anything, and loved coaching his three daughters in basketball and softball through grade school. Phil's grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he was their biggest fan at their sporting and school events. He was loved immensely, and will live in our hearts forever.
