Ruth M. THOMPSON, age 96, of Parma Heights, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 8 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years Archie L. Thompson. Born in Appomattox County, VA, Ruth was one of 8 children born to the late Herbert and Mabel Moore. Ruth is survived by son Gary L. Thompson (Jayne) of Medina, daughter, Debra Sue Tobak (Jim, deceased) of Twinsburg; grandchildren, Todd Thompson (Olga); Leslie Coleman (Jack); Sara Stifter (Jason), great-grandchildren: Ethan and Julian Thompson, Lindsey and Rachel Coleman and Logan Stifter. Siblings Wallace Donald Moore and sister Ann Reynolds both of Appomattox, VA. In addition to many nieces and nephews including Bleeka Jane Davidson of Middleburg Hts. and special friend Rose Gallagher. Ruth was also preceded in death by her most beloved siblings, H.H. Moore Jr.; Alonza Moore; Everette Moore; Neville Moore; Ellen Marie Dunnam and nephews, Teddy L. Moore and Bobby Dunnam. Ruth and Archie settled in Cleveland in 1945 where they attended Christ United Methodist Church of Cleveland. Ruth was a 63-year member of West Park Chapter O.E.S. After retiring from Scott & Fetzer (Kirby Company) in 1995 she devoted her time to taking care of her family which was her greatest love. Her devotion and pride in family always preceded her passions for gardening, cooking, canning, and baking. Her vast assortment of homemade Christmas cookies was always a renowned tradition.
