I was looking up David on the internet to see if I could find out where he was. I served with David in Vietnam and he was one of my closest friends. We never caught up after that but he was often in my thoughts. Funny, bright and full of life, I am very sorry to hear he died. My thoughts and prayers to his family.

I am sadden to hear about dave him and I went back to ST. Bridgets and when I bump into him we would reminince about our friends and classmates at ST.Bridgets my condolences go

Mr. Labutta, Mrs, Labutta, Johnny, Rosie, Willie and Robert,

My heart goes out to you and is with you at this incredibility difficult time.
I am however, so grateful to have had the opportunity to reconnect with Dave after so many years – I had the opportunity to see him at Christmas and again over the past couple of weekends. It is also interesting to see from the notes above that he continued to have endearing names for the people closest to him in his life – a practice that I believe I can safely say he began during his teenage years with Rosie and myself.

16 years ago I had the good fortune to meet David though his brother Willie. David was a unique and unforgettable person. He always had a smile on his face, a laugh nearby, and a welcoming handshake. A passionate person and a fierce friend, when David was around it was never dull. He had a wonderful spirit of optimism about him, whether it was about his Cleveland teams, golfing, or the next day. My life is richer for having known him, and having the privilege of being able to call him my friend. He will be missed.

I was saddened to hear of Dave’s passing. We go way back together to grade school at St. Bridgets. Over the years we would occasionally run into each other and talk about the “good old days”. Those are all fond memories.

I know this is a very difficult time for the family, having just lost my Father, but I can only hope your sorrows ease with time. It starts by remembering all the good times you had with Dave.

Dave was a good guy and he will be missed.
