I phoned him when he was dying and he said 'I am about
to take an important journey.' He was a friend and adviser
to me in love in religion in health and in life. He was a constant support to my Mom, who had MS, with care and just the right kind
encouragement. He was wise and loving without regard
to nationality or origin. He was a true Christian without an
ounce of conceit or religious prejudice. Our whole family felt it an honor to know him and have him as our doctor,a doctor that reminds us that a true doctor is not simply a medical man. He treated even the youngest patients as individuals. His care and
understanding were far beyond the duty of a mere professional..
More than miss him I remember him. There was nothing about him to lament! Even the joy his excellence brought to himself
was apparent. He is an inspiration to all not content with the
minimum or thinking only about themselves or in thinking
of work as a sentence. What a hero! Don't settle for half a life.
Be a Doctor Schnell!

Dr. Steve and family,
My deepest condolences on the passing of your dad - and mom, as I just learned of her passing as well.
My mom was a charge nurse at Deaconess for years and years and I, too, worked there during my college years on 1 South and 1 North. If you want to know who the best doctors are, ask the nurses because they see, day to day, how their patients do. Mom had a few favorite doctors, but chose Fred Schnell for her personal physician. I would say of all the people she knew, he was the one she admired the most. I still can see him walking down the hall at Deaconess with eye glasses pulled low on his nose. He will be greatly missed! I'm quite sure that my mom was in the crowd, in heaven, at the gate, to welcome him home!

My deepest sympathy to the entire family. I have so many fond memories of your father, especially how kind he was to my dad in his final years. Thinking of each and every one of you during this difficult time.

My warmest condolences to all the Schnells. The old guard have
passed. I remember your father fondly since I was a small child
and he and my dad would "talk shop." I last saw him at my father's
80th birthday party. He and your mom were, as always, loving and
gracious. My best to you all.

To All the Schnell's....On behalf of the Kalina Family, our sincere sympathy at the loss of your father, he was a wonderful man.
He had a cheery disposition and always had a smile for everyone. He surely will be missed in the neighborhood and by all the people who knew him.

To all the family of Dr. Frederick Schnell, you have my deepest sympathy. Espeically for Dr. David (my Cardiologist) my heart felt sympathy to you, dear person, now I know why you seemed a little distant at my last appointment. May you be comforted by your strong heart and the support of family and friends. Namaste
