Dear Tom and family,

I was truly sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. As I sat and thought about her one particular memory came to mind. I remember 30 years ago when your grandmother passed away. If I recall correctly it was in December before Christmas. I can clearly see your mom and Aunt Nancy standing at the funeral home waiting to receive family and friends and the two of them were wearing “JOY” pins. Your mother had explained that this was a time of joy because her mother had gone on to eternal life with God. What a great example your mother set. I pray that all of you can find the same peace and comfort at this time as your mother did. Your mother set many other good examples living her life through her faith that all of you can reflect upon and be proud of.

Jim, please know that Stephen, the kids, and I wish we could be there in body and we are there in spirit! We would like to be there to remember the fun Monday Night Meal times at the Parkview and times spent with you in Hinckley and Starr’s Acres. Mary was so loving to all she encountered and loved you very much. We cannot begin to understand the depth of your sadness but we do know we send our hugs and love to you and your family during this time of sorrow, laughs, tears, and rememberance.

I’m so sorry to see your mom passed. I will always remember her coming in when you’d demonstrate your Irish dance…and telling me about how your brothers threw you down the stairs in a sleeping bag.

She was always so nice when I’d come over to play and swim and I never go to Parma without thinking about you and your family.

As I write this with tears in my eyes I think of the time Mary and I danced on the lunch table at Ursuline and the nuns made us count tax stamps after, Mary running for the school bus, being CYO cheerleaders, working at Erie RR where everyone was a west-sider so we met many lovely people, We are glad we just saw her in July with her same smile as always.May God always let you know she is close and will be praying for all of you.
