RAYMOND W. OLESKI, Age 91, was born in Cleveland, Oh 12/11/1929 and passed peacefully with family at his side on Oct. 19, 2021. Raymond was preceded in death by his beloved wives Ann J. (nee Doubrava) and Mary Ann Oberth Black (nee West); parents Walter and Bertha (nee Sachara); sister Laverne Michaels (Hobe Sound, FL) and brother James. He is survived by his sister Mary Ann Dean (Hobe Sound, FL), sons, David (Molly), Kim (Gretchen) and Michael (Keith Nagy). Beloved grandfather of Kevin, Michael, Melanie McEnery (Klint), Nicholas, Jeffrey, Lauren and Sophia and great grandfather of Braden, Harrison, Mason, Annabelle and one on the way. Raymond spent the last 20 years in New Port Richey, FL where he will be missed by many friends. If desired, donations may be made in his name to the Hospice of the Western Reserve.

MITCHELL, Jerome T.

October 14, 2021

Jerome T. Mitchell of Brecksville  passed away on October 12, 2021 at the age 76.  He was the beloved son of Calvin and Mary (nee Kowalcek) Mitchell and dear brother of Esther Tomsik and twin brother James, both deceased. He and his former wife Audrey Mitchell share three children; Christine (Mike), Todd, and Stacy. Grandfather to Amanda (Joe), Ashley, Emily, Matthew, Mary, Calvin, and Christopher. Great-grandfather of Olivia and Vince. He is also survived by his companion Marilyn Stancato and his dog Walter.

 Jerry was a lifelong Clevelander, graduate of Parma Senior High (1962) and Kent State University. A fine baseball pitcher in high school and long-time Cleveland baseball fan. He was an entrepreneur and a hard-working businessman who developed and managed multiple properties in the area. Jerry was passionate about his work and loved to be involved in every aspect. Jerry worked with his family to grow C.C. Mitchell Supply Company from a small appliance store in old Brooklyn into a large wholesaler of appliances to the community. He was involved in both community and political activities throughout his life and will be missed.

 Visitation Sunday, October 17th from 1-4 at Zabor Funeral Home. Funeral Mass Monday at 11am at St. Charles Borromeo. Private interment at Brecksville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

MCKAY, Ardean A.

Ardean A. McKay, (nee Boone), age 86, passed away peacefully on Oct 11, 2021. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Neil V. McKay Jr. and loving parents Ivan and Beulah. Loving mother of Ronald (Karen), Eric, the late Neil (Carol), and Sean (Jill). Loving grandmother of Kayla, Eric Jr. (Belinda), Jesse, Cody, Daniel (Susie), Matthew, Abigale (Adam) and Kaitlyn. Great grandmother of Oliver.

Kathleen M. BOLL  (nee Zima) age 67. Beloved wife of Richard J. Jr. for 27 years. Loving daughter of the late Edward and Patricia Zima (nee Zakrzewski). Dearest mother of Bryan (Lisa), step-mother of Christine (Jefty), Kimberly (Fred), Richard III (Angel), Daniel (Lindsay) and David (Carrie). Loving grandmother of 15 and great grandmother of 11. Dear sister of Marylou (Cubby), David (Anne), Genny (Tony), and the late William, Joseph, and Edward (Meni) Zima. Dear aunt and cousin to many. She was with the Polish Legion of American Veterans Roosevelt Chapter 58 for close to 50 years. She held the offices of national, state, and chapter president. And most recently, national VAVS representative. She battled ovarian cancer these last four years. The family would like to send thanks to Metro Hospital Oncology Department and to Holy Family Hospice for their great and loving care.

Van Keuren, Roy A.

Roy A. Van Keuren, age 66, passed away October 9, 2021 after having sustained injuries from a car crash.

He was preceded in death by his wife Susan ‘Joy’ Van Keuren (nee Guschwan) and his parents Herbert and Evelyn Van Keuren. He is survived by his children, Katherine Van Keuren, 28, Theresa Van Keuren, 25, and siblings Michael (Kerry) Van Keuren, Thomas (Norma) Van Keuren, James (Julie King) Van Keuren, Anthony (Nora Eason) Van Keuren, and Joseph (Belinda) Van Keuren, along with many nieces and nephews. 

Roy was a very devoted man to his family, his friends, his job, and to anyone who was in need. His dedication to those in his community remained unwavering despite the gravity of what challenges he overcame. He was a master of many things and seldom was there a project he was not excited to conquer at the request of another. Roy was quick to provide the carefully crafted comical response bringing light and laughter to all. Roy was a member of IATSE Local 27 for many years. He was the audio technician for the Connor Palace Theatre at Playhouse Square. Roy was a hard worker who went above and beyond to ensure that the job was enjoyable and ran flawlessly.

Van Keuren, Susan J.

Susan ‘Joy’ Van Keuren (nee Guschwan), age 65, passed away October 5, 2021, at the scene of a fatal car crash. Husband Roy A. Van Keuren passed away Oct. 9, 2021 from injuries sustained in the same car crash.

She is survived by her children, Katherine Van Keuren, 28, and Theresa Van Keuren, 25; siblings George (Anne) Guschwan, Mary McBarron, and Betty (Joe) Pitstick. She was preceded in death by siblings Andy (Barb) Guschwan, Annemarie (Leonard) Gehring, Frances (Leonard) Simecek, and Jean (Richard) Patterson. 

Joy was a talented lover of the arts who was involved in community and educational theatre where she nurtured countless unforgettable bonds. She brought numerous sets to life, performed in shows at the University of Dayton and a few community theatres in Lorain County, and taught all aspects of technical theatre to the youth. All that Joy committed to she did with her whole heart. She was deeply rooted in her faith and above all else treasured spending time with her family. Joy’s ability to give unto others was just one example of her endless love and generosity. She ends this Act of Life with her final bow.

SAVAGE, age 77.  Beloved husband of the late Faith Terese (nee Brenner).  Born in Summerville, NJ in 1944 and passed on Oct. 7, 2021.  Dear son of Emma Sophia (nee Besig) and James R.  Beloved uncle and dear friend to many.  Well-known vintage toy dealer since 1960’s.
